I got to wondering if the Boy Genius Report (http://www.boygeniusreport.com) was a Canadian blog. Then I wondered if the Boy himself would be at MESH. I am not sure if there is a hook there or not.

Seconds votes for Clay Shirky, Rex Sorgatz, and Don Gilmor.
And thumbs for Randall Munroe.

best

More representatives from companies that can prove the utility of Web 2.0 applications (e.g. Dell but not Dell) on an ROI basis or otherwise. It may be boring stuff but given the economic environment I believe attendees will appreciate the case studies.

Can we get the guy from the Free Hugs campaign? Injecting a little philosophy into Mesh could be very zen ...
Him or maybe a flash mob organizer or Improv Everywhere. I'd like to hear from someone involved in starting a movement .. and not just a marketing campaign.
Cheers!

I think Rex Sorgatz would have a lot of interesting things to say about the cult of personality online and what he calls 'making public fodder of the private' (though I freely admit I partly want him to come to Mesh so we can get drunk together). Waxy is always cool, especially on seemingly obscure, arcane stuff and the Web as cultural archive. And Clay Shirky always seems interesting.

Last year, it was also cool to have some Canucks who had 'made it' - though I guess that does tend to make the crowd more entrepreneur/VC heavy. Regardless, I'll be there!
