		<description>It seems to me that people were writing to newspapers - and getting their letters printed - long before the Internet, blogging, and comments.  This is no different.  I agree with you "a few carefully selected reader comments would be a useful addition to the story."</description>

		<description>Back when I worked at CNN interactive before the evil AOL took the reins and flogged the horse, comments on articles weren't just invited, they were coveted.  Many times the original content would be enhanced by what was posted in response to it on the message boards, which were linked directly from the front page articles.

My take is that comments should be welcomed as long as they're carefully moderated to rid them of spam, trolls and other unwelcome parasites.

Nice theme, btw, except it took me a bit to find the comments link. :)</description>
