While I understand the need for media companies to protect their revenue streams, I am a bit baffled by how slow Canadian companies have been to react to these here internets. CTV have done an admirable job of getting Canadian shows like Corner Gas and Degrassi online, but few others have.

I'm confused by the obstinancy of Canadian content providers. If I miss Grey's Anatomy or 24, I also miss watching the ads. If you made these shows available on your website, or iTunes or your own e-store solution, I would be forced to watch whatever ads you put in there. By assuming that this will somehow draw viewers away from traditional media, they miss that new revenue streams are just lying there, untapped.
