The comments to my post were really interesting, and did give me a wider understanding of how Twitter can be used for conversation other than "how ya doin'?" and blogging one's cat.  With that said, I don't really see me keeping a window up on the desktop with the latest twitters all day, but as Matt said, it could be a lifesaving tool in the event of natural disaster or earthquake because of the one-to-many feature, unlike text messaging or IM.</description>
