		<description>That's a good question, Chris.  There have been a number of rulings (in the U.S.) that suggest bloggers should effectively be considered journalists, so there is some protection there, but obviously you still have to be concerned about the laws surrounding libel, slander, etc.</description>

I think the legal stuff makes for an interesting discussion. The Globe and Mail might make an egregious error, but they have a legal staff backing them up. Let's pretend that Engadget wasn't backed up by Time Warner's legal team. What happens when a little old blog (or evena  big independent one) spreads an untrue Apple rumour and costs the company a lot of money on the stock market?</description>
