Given the rules that Denton outlined in his memo for how this will play out, I don't see any downside. Unless Web sites significantly change their design to eliminate the use of page views in relation to viewing articles, it's a good enough count. Besides, it's a bonus. The main change, if ever implemented in a traditional newsroom, would be the imminent laser focus on what types of content work online (which probably also work better in print, too). As you know, I’m a big supporter of the page view bonus plan. Given the rules that Denton outlined in his memo for how this will play out, I don’t see any downside.
